Popular for producing rich, warm tones, Heavy French Polish is a favourite amongst antique restorers and cabinet makers. Heavy French Polish is often used instead of a wood dye to recreate that amber, high gloss appearance so typical of many period antique finishes.
Sand the wood in stages, working with the grain where possible. Start with a medium grade sandpaper (120 Grit), and finish with a medium to fine grade (180 – 220 Grit). Ensure all areas to be coated are free from grease and blemishes prior to application. Fiddes range of Shellac Polishes are ideally suited for application on top of Fiddes complete range of Wood Stains & Dyes. Application: Brush / Rubber. NB. Always finish with a coat of Fiddes Supreme Wax Polish or Mellow Wax Polish to further protect and enhance the natural beauty of your wood.
