J A Milton Open Workshop Week

Launching our New J A Milton Open Workshop Week

We are opening our school of excellence for a full week you can dip your toe into the water and get a taster and introduction into the other courses that we offer here in a more relaxed and informal environment. The aim is for you to drop in for one day only or attend for the whole week (or any number of days in between) Come along and bring your own project to re-upholster, restore or repolish and at the same time you can familiarise yourself with our other courses:

  • Traditional Upholstery
  • Furniture Restoration
  • Wood Finishing

This is a great opportunity to try one day, couple of days or whole week if you like, to complete your projects, receive guidance on future projects and get a taste of our new and exciting courses.
Classes are small with 4 - 6 students to ensure everyone gets time with the tutors but work and learn at their own speed. Booking ahead is recommended to avoid any disappointment.

If your upholstery project requires new foam you will need to order this before your course in order that the factory can cut the size and deliver it to the classroom in time for your class. This can be up to 7 days. Top fabric will also need to be ordered in but we have a huge range to help you choose and samples can be sent to your home as long as we have enough notice. If you’d prefer to purchase a new frame please contact us in advanced to ensure we have it ready for your course.

All the tools you will need are available to use in our workshop but if you prefer to purchase your own before the course please phone us and we can discuss what you may need.  We have a small shop on site so during the course you can come and have a look.

The classes take place in our workshop in Ellesmere, Shropshire from around 9am until 4.30pm including refreshments throughout the day. If you would like to come to us for a course we can recommend some of our local accommodation – further information can be found here.

Booking Your course
